The coolant tank of your vehicle acts as both a recovery tank for coolant that overflows from the radiator and, in some cases, as a fill area for the system. If a crack appears in the tank, you’ll have to replace it before coolant is lost and the vehicle begins to overheat. Replacing the coolant tank in an Astro van is a fairly straightforward process and can be done in a few minutes.
Tools Used: Tools, 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set, Pliers, Flathead screwdriver, Bucket, 50-50 pre diluted coolant
Remove the Coolant Tank
Pop the hood and unbolt the coolant tank from under the hood. When it’s loose, pull it forward and hold it in place with your hand.
